A storage unit for a renovation, a move or time away

A storage unit is not only for people short of space. It is often rented for a few months to get through a specific moment. These are the cases where it pays off most, and what it really costs.

During a renovation

If you are renovating the kitchen, the bathroom or the whole house, furniture and boxes get in the way and suffer from dust. Storing them elsewhere keeps the work area clear and your things protected. The usual approach is to rent for as long as the work lasts and give notice when it ends.

Between two moves

When you sell a house before moving into the next one, or you move city and the new home is not ready, a storage unit acts as a bridge. It lets you move your things without rushing.

A second home or time away

In the Marina Alta many people live here part of the year. If you leave the house empty or rent it out, keeping your personal belongings in a storage unit lets you let it without clutter and get them back when you return. The same goes if you are away for a few months for work or travel.

For a small business or a shop

If you run a shop or sell online, a storage unit works as a warehouse for stock that does not fit in the shop, with access at any hour to collect and restock.

What it costs

At €24 per square metre a month, VAT and insurance included, a small unit starts at €66 a month and a medium one is between €105 and €120. For three months of building work, a medium unit is between €315 and €360, everything included. See all sizes and prices in the price table or try the calculator. If you do not know what size you need, we explain it in the size guide.
